Our Mission and Values
At Exercise Therapies, we believe that exercise can empower people to live their best lives. But it needs to be the right exercise at the right time to avoid pain, injuries or worsening existing conditions.
That’s why we create personalised exercise programs that are tailored to your unique goals, needs and preferences. Our goal is to work with you to find ways of moving that make you feel good, inside and out.
When working with clients, we think it’s essential that they feel safe, supported and understood. All of our exercise physiologists are university-educated, experienced professionals who are not only knowledgeable but also approachable and encouraging.
Meet our founder
Exercise Therapies was founded by Charlie Gordon, an Accredited Exercise Physiologist based on the Gold Coast. He has a strong background in supporting clients with neurological disorders and physical disabilities. He’s also experienced in navigating NDIS systems and reporting processes. Charlie likes to take a collaborative approach to multidisciplinary care.
What motivates him is having the opportunity to make a real impact on people’s daily lives. For Charlie, no hurdle is too great when it comes to helping people adapt to any physical challenges or barriers they may be experiencing.
Why we’re different.
We’re here to support and guide you so you can achieve more freedom, comfort, and energy to do the things you love. Here’s how. We are:
People-first
We’re focused on you–your goals, your needs, your motivations, your likes, your dislikes. There’s no one-size-fits-all here. Every exercise program is tailored to you.
Practical
We specialise in practical fitness for everyday life, helping you move better, feel stronger, and live more comfortably. It’s all about experiencing real, tangible benefits in ways that matter most to you.
Qualified
Our university-educated exercise physiologists take an evidence-based approach to designing effective exercise programs.
Supportive
We’re friendly, approachable and committed to helping you make sustainable progress in a safe and inclusive environment.
Flexible
As well as adapting your program to meet your changing needs, we offer flexibility in where you can do your exercise physiology sessions on the Gold Coast. Choose from exercising out in the community, at our Burleigh gym location or even in your own home.
At Exercise Therapies, we’re committed to helping clients achieve their full potential, and Tarsha’s journey is a powerful example of this dedication. Despite having cerebral palsy (CP), Tarsha started with 5K runs and, with Charlie’s guidance, has progressed to completing a 10K race and a 21K run. Her next goal is a full marathon. Through a tailored approach that builds strength and fitness, Tarsha has maintained excellent health and rarely falls ill, a testament to the effectiveness of consistent exercise. Her story shows that with the right support and determination, even the most ambitious goals are attainable.
At Exercise Therapies, we are dedicated to transforming lives through personalised care, as demonstrated by Charlie's inspiring journey. After struggling with persistent pain and mobility issues, Charlie turned to us for a tailored exercise program. This approach led to remarkable improvements—reduced pain, increased strength, and regained freedom to enjoy daily activities without limitations. Charlie’s experience highlights our commitment to addressing each client’s unique needs and providing long-term solutions that empower individuals to take control of their health and achieve a pain-free, active lifestyle.
At Exercise Therapies, we are dedicated to helping clients regain strength and mobility through personalised exercise programs, as seen in Robin’s inspiring journey. Diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) in her 30s, Robin faced severe neck pain and restricted movement, which impacted her active lifestyle. However, after starting a tailored program with us, she experienced significant improvements. Our approach helped relieve her pain, improve her mobility, and restore her confidence in exercising. Robin's story is a testament to the power of personalised care in managing chronic conditions and reclaiming an active, fulfilling life.
