At Exercise Therapies, we’re committed to helping our clients regain control of their lives through tailored exercise programs. Robin’s story is a powerful example of how our approach can make a difference, even in the face of challenging conditions like Multiple Sclerosis (MS).
Robin, a counsellor working with people with disabilities, was diagnosed with MS in her 30s. Having led an active lifestyle filled with sports, the diagnosis was a significant turning point. The combination of MS and age-related changes left Robin struggling with severe neck pain and restricted movement, especially while driving.
When Robin first met Charlie at Exercise Therapies, she found herself unable to do much exercise. She was surprised by how much she’d lost the ability to stay active. However, with Charlie’s person-centred approach, Robin began to see real improvements. Charlie worked with Robin at her own pace, focusing on exercises to relieve neck tension and improve overall mobility.
Robin highlights how this approach has not only reduced her pain but also restored her confidence in exercising. From barely being able to lift a cup, Robin has now returned to the gym and is even enjoying weight training, something she never imagined she’d do again.
Robin’s experience underscores the value of exercise physiology, especially for those living with chronic health conditions. It’s a testament to how personalised care can make a world of difference in regaining mobility and improving quality of life.
